Good Friday is celebrated by many Christians around the world including Canada. It always occurs on the Friday before Christ's crucifixion to which it honors all that Christ did in life, death and resurrection.
There are special proceedings in church gatherings to honor Jesus and his teachings. Some in Canada mourn for his death and praise him for all that he did in the Christian religion.
To most Christians this holiday has been around since the death of Christ and is called 'good' because it derived from the day of God's Friday. Others believe that Christ defeated death and sin itself so it is seen as a 'good' Friday.
