Easter Monday celebrates when Mary Magdalene found a tomb, that Jesus had been buried in, empty without his body. This holiday happens the Monday after Easter Sunday.

Easter Monday is spent with family and friends and attending to church, sports events and fairs. It's common for families to have an Easter egg hunt and spend time outside enjoying the nice spring weather. Most buildings are closed however airports and railway stations are open.

History

Jesus Christ's resurrection was believed to have happened when the tomb in the cave he was buried in was found empty.
