Labour Day in New Zealand falls on the 4th Monday of October celebrating the labour movement.
People will attend parades and other labour related gatherings or just take time off work to relax. May take a 3 day weekend to enjoy some traveling. This day is a national holiday with government and most businesses closed.
Labour Day officially began in New Zealand back in 1900. The movement began before that with thousands of workers parading to fight for a 8 hour work day back in 1890.
