Good Friday is celebrated by many Christians around the world on the Friday before Christ's crucifixion. It honors all that Christ did in life, death and resurrection.
To honor this day Christians around the world will mourn for Jesus and sometimes participate in a re-enactments of the Crucifixion. There are special proceedings and church gatherings to honor Jesus and his teachings.
To most Christians this holiday has been around since the resurrection of Christ and is called 'good' because Christ defeated death and sin itself. Others believe it derived from the day of God's Friday.
