The End of Ramadan in Egypt is a three day festival for breaking the fasting in Ramadan often referred to as Eid al-Fitr. The date is determined by the cycles of the moon because the Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar.
This Muslim holiday is celebrated with giving prayer and money to those in need and at church. They also have huge feasts to celebrate that their fasting is over.
The holiday begins at the citing of a New Moon ending the month and beginning the month of Shawwal which ends the fasting. Usually the moon sightings will be seen in Saudi Arabia or done locally in Egypt.
